I have gotten into Steam Punk. And not the usual way I get into things. I started reading "The Court of the Air" by Stephen Hunt(I'm half way through now) and then the Steampunk bug bit me. Which made me realize that i have a lot of Steampunk-ish things already. I have a pair of old fashion Welders goggles, the trench coat, the hats, etc. So, both my Mum and I are now looking for more things that can give me more of a Steampunk quality.
And I bet there are a few of you that aren't completely sure what I'm talking about. I'll explain... If I can: Streampunk is basically like Cyberpunk(ie Blade Runner, Bubblegum Crisis) and set in 18 hundreds/ Victorian england. During the Industrial Revolution when everything was powered by Steam. The future that never was per say. Some good examples of Steampunk are The Adventures of Jules Vern, Disney's 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, Steamboy, Final Fantasy 6 and Castle in the Sky.
If this didn't explain it enough(cause I'm not totally sure how to explain it myself) check out Wikipedia, the look for it on Youtube. It's easier to see it.
My steam for drawning is a bit low lately, so I'm working on my new hardsuit, and the Stempunk thing of course. Until I think of something really cool to draw. And you guys will be the first to hear about it.
I'm taking a different approach to makeing the new, custom hardsuit. Instead of using cardboard for the pattern, I'm just using paper. It's easier to cut and take less time. To put it together, I'm either going to use craft foam, or card stock like what I saw on Indy Mogul for HALO aromor on Youtube. The obe thing I don't have to worry about this time is the boots. I already have a pair of Black boots that I've modified with electrical tape. So that's done.
For what ever art I shall be posting that's going to be coloured, I'll be using CS3 so i can prctice for college. Taht way I'll won't have to worry about getting stuck with layers, effect and such. So you guys will be seeing mainly comic covers, Medabots, Transformers, and Metroid. Progress on costumes will have photos and posted.
So, anyone excited for the GI Joe movie? I am, and I've only watched GIJoe Resolute.XD
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I've started baking I made a marble cake and chocolate chip cookies. It keeps me busy. Aaaannnnnd it's a part of my cleaning duties.
